I felt the mountain in me I felt Mother Earth weeping* I became one heartbeat with the woolen friends. I got lost - and found in the force of giving myself into the now framing it intuitively and being thankful for the experience feeling more alive in those moments than many of my days where I have to practice in order to get close to anything that resembles those moments of oneness. In the method and the means being nothing yet all, I knew that I was wearing and using a camera, as I wear shoes but they too became not felt. As I became the mountain, the sheep, the air. It is pure and beautiful oneness. All at once and nothingness at the same time. We are with knowledge documented, a lot not accepted. So much grief in that. We more than ever before need to learn how to grieve and let go, enjoy the beauty and let go. Coming home to the flat land, seeing with loaded eyes. I can only be like you, I am no longer the experience. Researching endless. Knowing that what was there, no longer is to be found. Sadness too in the surprise about the label, the piercing, the earmark that sticks out when looking at the sheep, now a sentient being that makes me soft and warm on the inside - not pure wool, pure empathy. Sensations coming at me stronger then when amongst them, how we label our emotions, media-rise the moments, get lost in thoughts, remembering all the signs of that which will pass and in the transitioning that you and I too will pass like those moments. I believe, that we need to dare that experience of loss and grief. Again and again in order to fully comprehend. To accept and react - and accept. *Words I later read as parabels of the Vietnamese buddhist ‘peace’ monk Thich Nhat Hanh and spiritual activists like Joanne Macy. Thematically it’s first part of a series about energy. In the serie of images the artist has captured the scenery of a harbour and the surrounding city with the black shadow of the oil industry. A city that transformed over time from a fishing town, with fishermen and family members cycling the shore, delivery of the green net onto the cutters, men with their orange waders disappearing into the floating money makers as once the photographers grandfather did onto his then small cutters. Sounds and actions faded, it changed, a new city of steel grew and shaped Esbjerg over time. Photographs taken while walking the city and harbour - following the city for months. James Baldwin: “It is perfectly possible — indeed, it is far from uncommon — to go to bed one night, or wake up one morning, or simply walk through a door one has known all one’s life, and discover, between inhaling and exhaling, that the self one has sewn together with such effort is all dirty rags, is unusable, is gone: and out of what raw material will one build a self again?” The oil rigs took over the skyline but another interesting part about Esbjerg the current transition. works by the goldsmith and silversmith Rudolf Bott. The book accompanying the exhibition is a 672-page monumental work. Far from a usual catalog with colorful illustrations, it is "thought in black and white" like the entire exhibition. With a 340-page photo report by Lene Harbo and&nbsp;Jörg Koopmann, who photographed the objects across Europe at the lenders, collectors and in Bott's studio and home. The size of the book is the exact size of the precious sketch books with gilded edges that Rudolf Bott makes his notes and sketch his ideas. The theme of this group exhibition is twins and “twinning”. Presenting works that reflect on individuality, about people in close coexistence, which not only creates them but also some understanding of what it means to be humans, about interconnectedness and projections. Twins represent the most obvious examples, but others who shape their lives in a special symbiosis are under the microscope as well. The exhibition is dedicated to the fascination of the individual as a multipleand how that manifests itself in content shaping the idea. Quite often in art and society you find, imaginative and inaccurate images and depictions of twins, very rarely twins that are ‘normal’ and never two distinct individuals. There’s a fusion of the identical and identity. From the endless resources we have selected works from a wide range of perspectives and media that represent more than a double gaze on doubles. Artworks from more than half a century. Intertwining myths, science, and arts. we should not forget about the human craving for being loved, understood and close with someone, and how we could grow in and by a twinning world. The fascination may come from deeper longings for community, to be understood and not be alone. Alterations – A small Salon for tiny and big creatures and creations is what Lene Harbo Pedersen calls this compression and brings together works by nine artists. &nbsp;All of these works put different livelihoods into larger relationships and perspectives and bring them into close connections. This salon grew in the spirit of the feminist theorist Donna Haraway, who formulated the Chthulucene era, which – unlike in the Anthropocene – does not place people at the center of thought and history, but rather the life and relationships of other species and creatures. Harbo Pedersens transforms the nest into a contemporary salon with reference to the idea of the French salon, a product of the Enlightenment. “Thinking of the given situation that has brought us to a new wave of enlightenment, a radical one, where values, ethics and language has to change. The French salons in the 18th century opened up to giving voice to women. I give space to that altering with sound tracks of contemporary female voices. One can hear a danish singer who invented her own language for healing, a choir that salutes former times at Lothringer13, singing about algae’s and a million years ago. There’s also Kate and her political, emotional Tempest … and another singer wonders ‘Maybe I am like the River’ a mantra that might follow one for a while, ”comments Lene Harbo with a wink. ︎ All linguistic and visual cultures, mythologies and religions are permeated by bird stories, and much seems so self-evident that one regularly overlooks this proximity. The exhibition shows artists as observers and, in the spirit of many ornithologists, encourages us to take time to marvel. Freedom, light-heartedness, beauty, majesty, and vastness are often associated with birds, while judgments about many bird species are as disrespectful as they are arrogant. With hardly any other species is our interaction so ambivalent. In the scope of history though, it did not last long and the camera became emblematic of precision and control when depicting the world. At the dawn of photography the unknown was a conditioned parameter. In this exhibition, this given time you encounter six artists who investigate the poetic and aesthetic potential of the uncontrolled, manifested as sensuous photographic objects. Decisions are being made, be it conceptually or by the apparatus – the technical means. Somewhere in the creative process the control is liberated and the unknown unfolds and shapes its part. The exhibition follows no nostalgic impulse or intention, however, the historic perspective sheds light on the present. The experiment, a rare, almost forgotten side of photography deeply connected to impulse and the intuitive, is present in all the selected works. The normative character of a technical medium is defined by the relation between the given; the physical and chemical nature of this media, which is intensely regulated by light and time - and its effects on materials allow complex influences of incidences and coincidences. Here in this space of experimentation the mistake has no negative connotation but provides a positive friction - that of which we are all partly shaped. From mistakes we learn and from not being over-controlling we can touch the magic of what is given when touched by something so hard to describe, at times even indescribable, call it the creative, the spiritual, a light that comes from within. After her studies in Art history, media science &amp; management in digital medias she opened a bar in Copenhagen with her twinsister. Since 2011 she has been shaping photographic exhibitions, organising a yearly music festival and hosting cultural events at her bar. The partnership into shared work, forming the everyday life at the bar was paused in 2016. She continues persistingly curating and sharing photographs at the Nørrebro joint partnering up with Copenhagen Photo Festival since 2013. Since 2015 her main focus has been curating, photographing and editing. A fine debut filming along side Jörg Koopmann and editing 12 architectual films for Pinakothek Moderne / A.M. and the exhibition “Keine Angst vor Partizipation - Wohnen heute”. Between 2015 -2022 she was curating and assisting Jörg Koopmann, shaping conceptual ideas for the big group shows, being two hardworking hands and an extra head into the exhibition space Lothringer13 Halle, Munich. For the Photo Festival Fotodoks, München 2017 she created a varied program of lectures, panel discussions and film screenings. She also helped setting up the collectively driven festival - and since 2012 she followed and interacted into the proces until the festival was handed over to a new team in 2019. Trademark of that festival was the inclusion, networking, debating and an anually changing partner country that brought an interesting selection of the photographing world to Munich. In her work with Jörg Koopmann she has found a common interest to facilitate a myriad of multidiciplinary projects, but it is in the curating process they work most intense and strong into the field of the interdisciplinary, having a big heart for photographs and videos, they are embracing a holistic mindset.
