With its distinctive hillside setting above town, the zoo is a must-see for animal and plant lovers. You can even discover endangered species that were protected by the Alpine Zoo’s conservation programs. Meet some of the mountain animals that are native to Tirol.

Hikers familiar with the mountains of Tirol will know all about the alpine chough. These black birds with their eye-catching yellow beaks can be found circling in the air above many alpine summits.

Seeing the sun rise over the mountains. Smelling the fresh air. Hearing the rooster's cry. Greeting a fellow early riser with a friendly "Servus!". Tirol has lots of good reasons to make the most of the morning. Our hommage to a time of day with more to offer than you might imagine.

winter 20/21

Longing for the mountains? Regular winter guests and experienced skiers can easily forget just how spectacular the Tirolean Alps are for people who know pistes and gondolas only from TV (or YouTube). We joined four Danish teenagers on their first ever ski trip.
